It started with horseshoes
 
1943
The company was founded by Bech Riisager and Einer Christensen and primarily manufactured horseshoes with the help of eccentric presses built by the company. At the time, the companys name is Ferritslev Hesteskofabrik I/S.

1947
Company name changed to Ferritslev Jernvarefabrik I/S.

1948
The production of horseshoes is gradually phased out and the company now manufactures air line fittings and harrow teeth.

1958
Ferritslev Jernvarefabrik I/S is turned into a limited company.

1961
The hot galvanising department becomes an independent unit.

1970
The production apparatus in the hot galvanising department is enlarged to cover the growing demand for such items as lattice masts. The production of silencer flanges and welding flanges takes shape.

1985
I. Chr. Jensens Galvaniseringsetablissement is acquired and changes names to FJ Varmforzinkning A/S.

1986
The powder metallurgy department is established and, after major investments, the company is ready to meet the challenges of the future with the latest technology.

1987
Major investments are carried out in the hot dip galvanising department, especially in connection with improving the working environment, the preparatory processing plant, and cleaning exhaust gases.

1990
A new hot dip galvanising plant is established at Køge, Zealand.

1995
Gesa Galvanisering at Ishøj, Zealand, is acquired and becomes part of the surface treatment department (Køge).

1998
RM Varmforzinkning at Terndrup is acquired and becomes part of the surface treatment department (Køge).

1999
The powder metallurgy and punched items departments are accredited in accordance with ISO 9002.

2001
A new raw material / finished products hall with an area of 3,500 m2 is built for surface treatment.

2002
Ferritslev Jernvarefabrik A/S changes names to FJ Industries A/S. A new 1400 m2 furnace facility is built for the sintering department. Surface treatment activities are merged with Herning Galvanisering A/S, and Dansk Overflade Teknik A/S is created with FJ Industries A/S as the principal shareholder. The names FJ Sintermetal and FJ Steel are launched as divisions of FJ Industries A/S. Today, the company has more than 25,000 m2 of production facilities at its disposal and the production area is still being enlarged.
